Steam can take Paypal but Paypal will take 3-5 days and the sale ends in an hour

So I hadn't even touched my Paypal account in years.

Had my old bank account attached to it.  I don't even use that anymore; been meaning to close it.

Attached my new account to it.

...crap, I have to wait 3-5 business days for it to clear.

Steam sale on Hydrophobia: Prophecy ends at 1 PM eastern daylight time.  It's selling at $3 right now.

Can you not just use your card with steam?

But if I use a credit card my parents will find out that I made the purchase.

Well, they really don't want me buying games.

^ Yes, but it's mainly there for me to build up a credit history; I make token purchases (such as gas fill-up or a drugstore run) with it every so often and my parents pay the bill.

    I don't currently have a job.

    ^ "why is that"

Because I should be spending my time doing more productive things such as finding a job or otherwise preparing for my future, and I should not be spending so much time on the computer, and we're rather tight on money anyway.

(Slightly off topic, but everyone seems to always mention Credit cards, are debit cards not common over there?)

Do they read your bills as well then?

    Yes.

Debit cards are common, but I rarely use them as anything other than ATM cards since I think they incur a fee with every purchase.

Ah, well do you think it would be worth it after all you could argue it is only $3?

That is weird that they incur charges over there.

    ^ It's a matter of principle.

I feel tempted to ask someone to buy it for me and then pay them back with Paypal later.
  • OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!
    Ew, Paypal.
