Socio-Economic systems.

As far as I can tell, there are 4 main systems theorized: Capitalism, Communism, Socialism, and Anarchism. There may be more, but that's what I hear about most often.

So, are there any others? Those four seem to be the main ones, and pretty much everything else is either mixtures and variants of them, like how all colors are formed out of variants/mixtures of the primary colors.

    What about totalitarianism, democracy, republicanism, oligarchy, military dictatorship/junta, egalitarn cooperative, facism, and many others?
  • Most of those seem to be under the "variant" designation.

    Also, aren't communism and socialism very related to each other?

    In that sense, you could form two broad categories:
    * state-directed: socialist, facist, etc.
    * individual-directed: capitalist, anarchist, etc.

    ...come to think of it, anarchy is more of a government type (or lack thereof) than an economic structure of any sort.

    Those are political systems, not economic ones.
  • So really, there's Capitalism and Socialism.
  • I have no clue what the first one mean, the second one is a government system and hunter/gatherers don't have an economic system.

    Do you mean a barter economy?

    Well, hunter/gatherer is a type of society organization.  It probably falls under communism and bartering, though.
