Haven't we had this thread before?

In any case, I've been bitching about this since before it was cool.
  • MORONS! I'VE GOT MORONS ON MY PAYROLL!
    Hyperbole is fun.
  • well thanks to most of you i've lost faith in humanity if the need of a large  omnipresent state is such a necessity.
  • ^But you're special.

On topic, I have lost faith in humanity, but gained something better. A more rational assessment of humanity's capabilities.

It's not like faith in humanity has any use beyond "yay I r living in teh awsum species" anyway, and it's too fragile.

Faith in specific people, maybe that's nice. But an entire species isn't going to keep one's eyes free of massive disappointment, especially one as diverse as humans are regardless of how much those studies try to make it seem like we are so similar to each other most of what we know are exceptions or fakes.

Oh also inb4 the use of the word "edgy"

You've hit the nail on the head. Applying traits to an entire species based on the actions of a few is rather absurd, not to mention falling neatly into a common form of prejudice.

Atheists losing faith always makes me laugh.

If they can't have faith in God, a generally perfect being, then how can they even pretend to have faith in other humans?

I've still got my faith in humanity.

God is perfect! That means he can't change! We can't trust such a being!

Because human beings can always get better, we can cut through the heavens!
  • If you must eat a phoenix, boil it, do not roast it. This only encourages their mischievous habits.
If they can't have faith in God, a generally perfect being

You will be severely disappointed, Tnu.
  • You can change. You can.

    So...much...wrong.

He gets to do whatever he wants, to anything in the world, with no consequences or drawbacks. Nothing else in the world can oppose him, and he can never die or be subjected to his own rules and laws since there is nothing that can enforce punishments against him. That seems pretty perfect to me. For everything else though, it's a shitty deal.
  • Naturally I don't trust God.

    Naturally I don't trust God.

He doesn't give a shit if you don't trust him.
  • I want to depose him because nobody should be allowed to ahve that kind of power.

I wonder what it'd take to destroy God?

Is he physical or a metabeing?

My Catholic upbringing would imply a metabeing, but that just means we have to use metaweapons and metatactics. Easy.

You can't depose him, unless he wanted to be deposed.

    You can change. You can.
    You're missing the point, Vorpy.

    ^You can't depose non-existent beings

    You can change. You can.
It is. OTC conversations would be On Topic Conversations Conversations.

Well, I'm talking about a conversation in the forum entitled On-Topic Conversations. So technically it's correct.
