Kidz Bop

The kids can't sing. The songs have always sounded tunelessly sung to me. (I never had any interest in them, I only know them from their ads)

  • Aren't they on their 8th defilement of Pop music?

Ha, they did Girlfriend by Avril Lavigne and almost redid the song.
  • OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!
They're marketed toward kids --> lowered standards.
  • @Tno:  8th?  Try 19th.
  • OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!
    Nineteen?!

You just harmed my faith in humanity pretty badly.
  • Yeah.  It seems they've been doing two a year since 2003, and they did one a year for the 2 years prior.

Yeah, they've been making this crap practically since I was born.  You know what's worse than hearing a good song covered by the Kidz Bop kidz?  Hearing a Justin Bieber song covered by the Kidz Bop kidz.  Even the few seconds of it that you hear during the commercial can be deadly to young children and the elderly.
  • OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!
I feel like Justin Bieber might actually be improved.
  • They just keep makin' 'em.

    I wonder who buys them.
  • ^^ Improved perhaps in the same way that Mcdonald's food is better for the environment after being crapped out.
  • I dunno if I've ever heard a Justin Bieber song.

If I have, then I guess that just means he doesn't really stand out in any way, which is also likely.
  • OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!
I've heard five seconds of Justin Bieber. I literally could not bear any more.
  • My sister made me listen to him in the car once.  I'm lucky to be alive.

I feel that way with pretty much every Top 40 song at the moment.

Except the one by Florence + the Machine that I can't remember the name of.

    Because I like that song/band.
  • I've listened to him on the radio a few times. In my era of not being Music savvy, I thought it was the Pussy Cat Dolls or a variant of Destiny's Child singing it until I asked "Which group sings this song?" and my friend said "Justin Bieber". I took that as Justina Bieber and went to download the song, then found out it was a boy.

    Lost interest afterwards.
  • The song is "Dog Days are Gone"
  • The only song I've heard is that terrible "Baby" song.  Baby baby pleasekillmenow baby oooooooh.
  • ^^Strangely, it sounds like generic poppy music to me. Not really worth raging over, just forgettable.
  • ^ I know, but I'm willing to pretend it's worse than it is for the sake of a joke.
  • I didn't dislike him until everyone told me to dislike him. Now i dislike him until people tell me to like him.

I am against him passing a "documentary" as a movie though. The theatres could use that venue for other things, like artsy Black Dove movie that was rumored to be Award Bait.
  • @DRYE: How's this for Top 40?

  • @Tno: Honestly, you should listen to music because it's music.  I feel the same way though; I only really hate Justin Bieber's because of how wildly unpopular it is within my group of friends.  It really isn't THAT bad.  I really dislike how desperate the media is to shell him out right now though.  It's a minor annoyance, but I'd like to be able to turn on my television without having to see something about Justin Bieber ever 10 minutes.

^^ Okay, that was actually pretty good.
  • It's marketing. Since the female fandom have proven they will shell out (or at least their parents will) hundreds of dollars to him. They are marketing him as much as possible, learning from how Hansen did. Before his vocal chords change and people don't like him anymore.
  • Makes sense.  After all, why hire an entire boy band when you can just have one guy do all the "work?"  Though  I don't think I've seen the media so desperate to milk a single person's career since Brittney Spears,
  • I think they did it for awhile with Selena Gomez, although that was short lived once JB burst into the scene.
  • I remember that vaguely, but Disney's fickle-ness prevented it from really going anywhere.  Kind of the same thing that happened to poor Demi Lavato or however you say her name.
  • -googles Demi Lavato-
  • Oh. Never knew her.
  • Yeah, her career was pretty short-lived.  Probably because she was the only Disney star I really found tolerable, so of course she had to go.
