The Forum Lust Game is locked.
Why did it take 1800 pages to get locked? Once it started to evolve into a sex roleplay thread when it was first moved to forum games, I thought it was going to get killed off. Nope. It survived past the mass eradication of sex threads, survived the death of IJBM, survived the culling of TV Tropes and purification of the depravation, and was able to generate around 300 replies every single day while being 200% sex and little else.
Perhaps it was really low on the list of FE's priorities?
Now that I think about it though I might have accidentally killed it off while explaining it to somebody on Wiki talk on all of the different sex-related threads on TVTropes forums.
...
oops.

To be honest, I only learned that it was sex-roleplay when someone linked me to it two months ago.
Well, the thread's gone now. I've saved a portion of it to my hard drive, so in case anyone's interested, here's a download link:

replies for the first 10 pages, and then as long as nobody told the
mods, they could have a mod-free, rule-free thread?
Have you seen the level of bile that used to go around New Media?
Plus, it wasn't exactly breaking any rules and most of the mods knew exactly what it was.
Well, I thought there was a "one sex thread rule" that the topic in question probably was breaking, but I agree with Vorpy that it seems like it existed for a long time despite that rule.
I would guess that the reason that nothing happened to the thread was because it was just a single topic and people probably did not send hollers about it. I believe the standard line about forum stuff from Fast Eddie is that if it does not affect the wiki, it is not worth worrying too much about in terms of the site's reputation (though I am not totally sure about that).
Still, I can definitely see how the thread in question would get locked, especially since it is probably an even worse offender of the "one sex thread rule" than some of the older threads in IJBM and Yack Fest that were eliminated. Even if you are into the kind of thing that "the forum lust game" is about, I feel like it is pretty clear that it does not exactly fit well with moves to take out sexual troper tales and fetish fuel pages.
They seek to cleanse the wiki (and forums) of most of the disgusting sleaze.
I wouldn't have said that KHSAS was a sex thread. The original topic was about cross-line reading, and it just turned into sockpuppetry madness.
Well, given that there still are pornography tropes or at the very least clearly sexual ones (and at least one topic about the former if I remember correctly), in addition to the fetishes topic, I do not totally agree with you. Also, I do not really see a problem with killing off disgusting or creepy sections of the wiki, especially if they are just troper tales.
I understand that you may be different, but I do not want to hear about people's disturbing fantasies nor do I see much of a reason to read about someone's fetish on some works page. I do not believe that such entries help people to better understand tropes and given that there are other sites where people can talk about such things, I do not think they belong on TV Tropes.
Forzare,
Sorry, I thought you were talking about the "forum lust thread" being locked. I apologize for misinterpreting your post.
Unless you mean that the topic of discussion morphed into the premise of the conversation.
@vacasama: Would be hilarious if the forum censored "penis" into "pingas".
@glenn
This is what I get when I post after having been up for 40 hours straight.
Your sentence could legitimately make sense, y'know.
Though that picture was quite amusing.
Things like this are why I have officially turned in the designation "Troper".
Yes, the moderation is not bad compared to other places. But is it at all good? No, not when things get locked, no, sorry, deleted, with no explanation after an existence of over two years.
That's just bullshit. Why now? Why not the minute it was made? Why not the minute it turned into actual cybering?
I'm not going to pretend I have the answers to those questions. Honestly, you can say what you want about the thread itself, that it was disgusting, or whatever, but this decision simply doesn't make any damn sense.
Did they think no one would notice? That's a laugh.
