Who freshens knot academia lot?

Several groups (the Boy Scouts and the U.S military, for instance) have their own group of standard knots, which are all used for different purposes. But what if someone comes up with their own, equally useful knot? How do you get the Boy Scouts or some other group to adopt it? Does the ISO govern that? Some International Knot Tying Assosiation? An internal group within those organizations?

It's an anagram, people.

But how do you empirically prove your know is better?

That should be testable with ropes and weights or something.

But my knots require the magic of a true sailor to work properly. Being tested by some landlubber will prove nothing.
