My predisposition towards socialism

edited 2011-06-21 20:22:08 in Politics

It makes me feel somewhat guilty to be socialist because that makes me partisan. People keep convincing me that it's better to be impartial, but my perspective on world issues always leads me to a socialist viewpoint. I did not choose to be socialist. Socialism chose me by making my personality the way it is.

And it's not even a rational disposition either. What attracts me to socialism is the romanticism, the cultural ideal around it: a world where no one is treated differently due to titles or other superficial features. The idea that a better world than the one we have now could exist. It bugs me that I cannot be more accepting of the current system.

Hope that didn't come off as too passive-aggressive. It is really myself that bugs me in regards to this.

I feel the same way, but for different reason. I feel like my socialist beliefs have no right to exist since I don't know anything about economics.

V I don't really care that much. I'd rather just not vote so my uninformed beliefs don't hurt the country.
  • I am Dr. Ned who is totally not Dr. Zed in disguise.
I doubt anyone is truly impartial.
The key is whilst having preferences, just being able to see why the other person is arguing their side.
