Glaives are better.

I'm not even a pirate, and this pisses me off.

  • Man, that's almost as stupid as slave labor used for farming currency on MMOs.
  • Glaives are better.

It's like he's decided, "Hey, I'm not making as much money as I could because of music piracy. I know the solution: GO COMPLETELY FUCKING INSANE!"

  • But you never had any to begin with.
Jeremy, Jeremy, Jeremy. I love your music, but are you out of your mind?
  • Glaives are better.
    NICE RANT, JEREMY

If this is how a musician feels I wonder how a Japanese animator feels...

I mean uh, right, dey crazy meng, makin' music look bad.
  • I thought musicians made most of their money selling merch and concert tickets, even before piracy.
  • I doubt his songs have been downloaded more than six million times.
  • Creature - Florida Dragon Turtle Human
I've downloaded one of his songs.

That said, it was an OC Remix.  Those are free to download anyway.
  • I don't think bitching about piracy makes you many fans, either.
  • He pointed out that Lady Gaga has over a million plays on some music streaming websites and isn't making much money from this.

He apparently ignored the fact that she also sold 14 million albums worldwide.
  • Creature - Florida Dragon Turtle Human
Oh, that's okay, it's Lady Gaga.

    (void)
...wait a minute, someone who does videogame music is complaining about piracy damaging album sales?  And an avid supporter of OCRemix claims that people wouldn't make music if it weren't for money?

    The mind boggles.
  • Yeah, I thought that was weird too.

Maybe the reason nobody is buying his albums is because, you know, he writes scores for video games, and not the sort of music people actually buy anyway.

I don't know how much he supports OC Remix, but I just know that he's written at least one entry there.

That said, I do know that Squenix and Nintendo have lately (in the past few years) begun cracking down more on things like youtube uploads of their music.  Though Squenix does have a significant number of remix CDs that it sells.
  • Glaives are better.

You know, before I was perfectly happy to buy games that have his music, because of how good his work was.

Now, I feel really uncomfortable about giving ANY of my money to this asshole.

I don't care. He could steal my mail every day for 10 years and I'd still love Morrowind's soundtrack.
