I really wonder why teenagers on the internet feel a need to act like this store is the anti-christ. Especially when I barely see any fans of it, when everyone keeps going on and on and FUCKING ON about retard teenagers that supposedly hang out, nevermind that, much as Myr has never seen a single fan of Zero Punctuation that treats ZP like the gospel, I have never seen an single one of these teenage "faggots". And I go to public high school.

Not to mention is reeks of "THEY DON'T LIKE WHAT I LIKE/THEY ARE DIFFERENT, WE MUST STOP THIS PLAGUE OF DIFFERENT".

 I'm not sure why just walking past the store and letting me buy a fucking Call Of Duty T-shirt in peace is OH SO HORRIBLE. God nerds are petty sometimes.

    It's a shame Hasbro isn't making MLP T-shirts. I'm betting it's the kind of thing Hot Topic would sell, but I don't think there's much of a point in refusing to buy from a company because they aren't cool enough. If a place has a good I want at a price I can deal with, I don't see why I shouldn't buy from them.

    If Chagen's statement isn't a strawman, I would really, really love to hear what you could possibly find wrong with people shopping at a goddamn store.

    Because, to be honest, most of the objections to Hot Topic I've heard can be placed rather neatly into that "strawman".

    Which band shirts do they sell there? The Hot Topic in my area has been overrun with deathcore.

    I got a Mastodon shirt there that had a sabretooth tiger fighting a yeti, but it's too small for me now. And it's kind of old/

    It's been a while since I've been in there.  But the one at my mall wasn't completely overrun yet.  They still had "normal" rock/metal shirts, not just deathcore, the last time I was there.

    I got a Disturbed shirt, a Slipknot shirt, an Iron Maiden shirt, and a Metallica shirt from Hot Topic, IIRC.

    I mostly hate on the people who hate the store because the majority of them were mallgoths who were too out-of-shape to fit into the pants and shirts, since they rarely (VERY RARELY) sold their clothing in XL or XXL. Not only that, since most of them didn't have jobs they accused the shoppers there of being wannabe-paris hilton valley bitches for being able to afford $40.00 pants.

    I have yet to see a person who hated hot topic, and could afford everything in the store AND fit into all of the clothing.


    The only thing I hate about Hot Topic is how quickly they circulate merchandise out before I can get dibs on it, and how the padding in their bras is in the wrong place for smaller sized bras that aren't Cs, Ds or DDs.
