More popularly known to English-speakers as "I think, therefore I am."

Why couldn't it be translated in a way that doesn't require us to explain every time that "think" actually means something closer to "doubt"?

It's not like that would actually make it any more clear anyway.  Saying "I doubt, therefore I am" is just as likely to be misinterpreted.

Closer to accuracy would be "there's a thought, therefore something"  and honestly, I'd say anyone who proclaims certainty of more than that is a FILTHY LIAR and probably in league with the magpies.
