Well, if the secondary characters is better than most of/all of the other characters, I wouldn't complain.

Though it depends on the series.

I can't think of any that I've watched where this happens, but I can see how it would be annoying.

I'd say that Kyon is the main character of Haruhi...in fact, Haruhi is just a secondary character.

Eh, a whole deal of the story is about Kyon's development through his "adventures" with Haruhi, if he hijacked the plot, he did it really early on.

The thing with Haruhi is that, for weird shit to happen, she has to not be there... so the higher the weird shit/slightly odd highschool hijinks is, the less screentime she'll get.

It doesn't, but it seems odd to read Character A's story which is in fact all but totally about Character C.
