He's a hack.

OH SHIT WHOOPS LOOKS LIKE I'M TALKING ABOUT SOMEONE BEHIND THEIR BACK BETTER GET THE MODS TO LOCK THIS

Is there only something wrong with complaining about the poor quality of a person's work if they're not famous?

In a way, yes, to be blunt. It's less about the venting and more about potential drama to be had. I honestly enjoy venting and talking about people behind their backs if they annoy me and find the importing/exporting drama rule to be restrictive, but I acknowledge that doing so in an open area is not really a display of good manners.

It's worse in the case of a more normal person because there's still the possibility that, were they to see this, they would come here and continue the drama. Someone like this Bil Keane guy, or really any relatively-famous person probably has enough people complaining about them anyway that they don't care if one more thread pops up.

    If that makes any sense.
  • I don't think it's rude to have a negative opinion about a person's work or actions, or to discuss those things. I don't think it's anyone's responsibility to hide their opinions where it isn't going to cause a drop in productivity, especially on a forum about complaining where we don't really have any goals other than to talk about things.
