Maybe IJBM automatically puts a thread with a poster's name in it on said poster's bookmarked threads list? Other than that, I have no idea what it could be.

Clicking on the star makes it yellow, which makes a "My Bookmarks" thing show up, which disappears when I click the star again to make it white again.
