Wal-Mart is Bad for the Economy?
So I shopped at the WalMart the other day after my long aversion to giving that company my money due to the fact that people told me it was bad for the state of smaller businesses since they seem to have a monopoly over the local economies of the towns and seem to just siphon money out of it without any benefit to the towns or businesses around them.
I did it because I needed fishfood, underwear, some electronics (printer, new laptop and a couple thousand flash drives) and a ton of paper. Normally all of the things i would bought would rake up to near $1100 but there it only costed me 642 dollars, which was awesome.
It's just that I slightly feel guilty for it. It's like they trade lower prices for the eventual bankrupty of the other businesses I USED to shop at. There are still some things that WalMart doesn't sell, but hey, they sold 1.29 Funyuns for 88 cents. I love Funyuns.
Not only that everyone there gets paid minimum wage with little to no opportunity for benefits while the other companies have some form of benefit to working the same hours.
I think WalMart may start to kill off my favorite town now that I went down my business district and seen how many places have already closed down.

I can see how stores who sell things altogether like Pet Stores, Art Shops and Computer Stores would keep together if they sell higher class products, offer better services and pay better would survive, and naturally all the shitty businesses would die off.
