I feel this will be the most efficient means as to how to befriend the general userbase here. I am unsure of where to begin when all I have is an abstract goal such as this but it  will hopefully flow naturally.

    (I'm probably the last person who should be giving advice on making friends, but to hell with it)

    Allow me to be honest : In the 3 years I've been participating in TV Tropes and IJBM, I've only met one person I consider a true friend. (Yes, yes, everyone knows who.) And we didn't become friends by one of us simply saying "hey, let's be friends". We became friends because we share interest and found that we have a lot in common and we enjoy talking to each other.

    I usually become very methodical about how I do ikt I find someone who seems interesting and I try to engineer the process otherwise it just doesn't seem to happen.

    "Nope, go ahead."

    And it spiraled from there.
