Translating songs.

Hard work, it is. I mess up a lot when translating to German, but I still get the idea down pretty well.

I just translated my favorite song of all time into German. I feel kinda proud of myself never mind that I had a dictionary and an online translator half the time.

    Hell, I'm never far from my dictionary and online translator when I'm reading/writing Swedish.

    Translating songs is hard! Did you manage to keep the rhyme and the meter the same?

    Long: Oh hell naw. I was going for a translation that simply was the English lyrics into German. I didn't intend to to keep rhyme or rhythm the same at all.

    Well, any kind of translation is tricky. It's a lot harder than just knowing both of the languages. One time a few summers ago I had to do rapidfire translation between French and Swedish and I swear, nothing has hurt my head so much ever since. Never mind that I'm horrible at Swedish.

    I've done some song translation where I made things rhyme and fit in the meter, and that's also super tough.

    Yeah don't joke about the Nazi's it isn't funny.

    My grandfather died in one of the concentration camps, he fell out of the guard tower.

    As well a slightly worse for assuming Cyrillic alphabet = Russian.
