    The title of the series comes from the Japanese word for light music, keiongaku (軽音楽?), but in the Japanese context is similar to pop music.

    Also, it's explained in the first or second episode.  Didn't you watch at least a couple episodes of it?

    "Kei" or "K" comes from the first letter of the romanization of "karui" meaning "light," and "on" comes from "ongaku" meaning "music."

    I only watched episode 5. At least I got to see their teacher rockin' (Though I heard she gets an even awesomer scene in season II)
