People hating things just because they're popular
It doesn't make you cool, and it doesn't make you look smarter than anyone else, it makes you look like either a complete tool or a child.
And even if it really does suck (I know, subjective, blah blah blah), chances are it's not as bad as you make it out to be. Yes, Justin Bieber can't sing. No, he doesn't deserve to be killed. Same goes for Rebecca Black, Ke$ha, Katy Perry, Rihanna and,
depending on Which album we're talking about, Lady Gaga.

^^ That's acceptable.
^ You ninja.
On a similar note, I hate when someone just mildly dislikes something or
is indifferent to it, but acts like it's the worst thing to happen on
earth just because that's what's popular to do.
I think I agree with you there, that sounds pretty annoying to me. I think that "don't like, don't watch/read/listen" is a bit simplistic and is not really a good response to negative criticisms of a work, but I think it is rather silly to complain about something someone does not even dislike that much. I hope I am not repeating this too much, but I feel like one should like something because one finds it interesting and enjoyable, not because it is popular or unpopular (yes, I would make a horrible hipster).
As for the point you brought up in your first post, I have seen that kind of attitude about Bieber quite a bit, both online and offline. I have also witnessed people expressing this sentiment about sports, especially online. I admit that "hate" may not be the right word for that, but I do think that elitism about interests is not uncommon, particularly for tastes in music. I will defer to you there though since I tend to stay out of discussions about music.
You say that as if it's a bad thing.
