Too many ideas in my head

No rainbow star

I have ideas for wonder posts, real complaints, all sorts of things, but they are enough that my brain freezes up usually

Honestly, if it wasn't for the freezing up, I'd be making a new thread every two minutes about nearly everything

  • If you must eat a phoenix, boil it, do not roast it. This only encourages their mischievous habits.
Write them out on a Word doc.

My brain freezes up trying to weigh their worth. It's like trying to organize a million apples by their exact sweetness. Sone are obvious, but others are too closely rated

Don't organize them, just write them.
  • I have this problem, too.

Part of the problem is I have so many details attached to each one that if I try to write down all my ideas, I end up either (a) getting sidetracked by details, or (b) spending all my time on a single idea.
  • Ugh, I have this problem too. It's awful. I always run into the same problems CA does. That, or I write them down successfully, but when I come back to them later, they just look stupid to me.

I have a word doc with >1000 story ideas on it. Kinda ridiculous.
  • I recommend a notebook instead of Word for faster access. And Cygan's right, don't measure their worth. Write down even the ones you think are shitty. I've had ideas that seemed bad when I wrote them down, but turned out to fit with other ones later.
