    @snowbull: The main character accidentally causes his sister to go on a genocidal rampage and by doing so plunges the country into civil war. He does this by - while explaining how his Geass works to her - telling her that he could, if he wanted to, order her to kill all the Japanese. There's no particular reason for him to choose that example; he could've gone with anything. He then - almost completely unforeshadowed - loses control of his powers at that exact moment and thus causes her to try and do that.
