He seems very sensitive to control players.
This is understandable, to be honest, especially for casual players. There is definitely something nice in being able to, y'know, play creatures/spells/lands without having to look over one's shoulder all the time, constantly. Especially for newbie players who don't yet have a grasp of all the potential dependencies and anyone else who dislikes thinking through lots of depth of hypothetical scenario trees ("if I do this, opponent might do that, but then I could do one of these three things, and opponent would respond this way to first thing, that way to second thing,..." etc.).
But regardless of that, I think he needs to realize that gameplay mindset is NOT the same as real-life normal mindset. Some people are extremely competitive when playing a game but the nicest people outside of it. This isn't like a cartoon where everyone's personality and signature interests always reflect their strategy, deck contents, play attitude, and everything. His repeated stereotyping of (and fear of) control players as being jerks who want to make the game unfun support this conclusion.
The guy does nothing but RAEG.
