Because:
* on one side: people who treat killing animals as as bad as murder (as Nyktos observed)
* on the other side: people who can't stop mocking such "hippies"

That said, y'all should eat carrion. As in, animals that you don't have to slaughter for them to be dead.

No killing of animals but you can still enjoy your carnivorism.

I've never eaten an animal I've slaughtered. Except maybe a fish. It's probably more of a concern to these kinds of vegetarians that I contribute to the system buy buying meat and eating it when offered it by others.

And I think that's a valid concern. It's just that I value the protein and convenience I get from eating meat over the minuscule effect I have on the industry.
