It's sort of a Hitler ate sugar sort of thing. He plays video games and watches anime, but that shouldn't mean that we have to shun that kind of thing.

And while he does have extremely poor taste (as evidenced by him liking MLP before generation four), that doesn't mean that someone with poor taste can't ever like anything good.
