I have one due soon for English, and I'm really not looking forward to it. I hate presenting in front of other people. I don't like the whole feeling of everyone staring at me and I hate it when you're presenting and no one else does anything but stare, so I don't know if they're engaged and listening (and I really need people to tell me that they are paying attention when I'm talking with them). And I stutter a lot. And the accompanying powerpoint isn't actually finished. And I'm pretty sure I can't go back and edit it. Fuck. Monday is not gonna be a fun day.

Hey chagen, I'm happy for you, and imma let you finish, but don't you think you should explain what the hell this is about first?
  • Some guy on FSTDT decided to be a whiny bitch troll because of that thread I made. Ignore that faggot.

Did he send you a PM? You should post it on the thread so we can have a troll rating contest to see who he put the most effort towards flaming.

I MUCH prefer giving presentations to writing papers.

Getting information across in text is harder than getting information across in speech and pictures.

Not to mention that it's much easier to organize information into bullet points and diagrams than it is to organize information into text.

Text kinda sucks for organizing information.  Ever notice that?  Big blocks of paragraphed text suck for trying to skim and get information out of them.
  • Giving presentations is nerve-racking, what are you talking about?

And I'm bad at being laconic. I prefer the extreme detail papers can go into.

But in presentations and web pages I can show details as trees coming off of main branch points, but in a paper everything has to be written linearly and line after line and it's very hard to shoehorn bullet point lists into a paper.  Lists make it far easier to organize parallel points coherently.

    Do it a bit drunk.

I did all my presentations like that, it helped with the fluidity of the speaking.
