They're somethin' else.
How the hell do you play this thing?

    It's a Visual Novel. Just push X.
  • Likes cheesecake unironically.
First, you need a PS2. If you don't have a PS2, then you can't play it.

It's... really simple.  It's like any other JRPG.  Unless you picked Hard difficulty and its your first time through the game.  In that case, you'll probably be screwed.  Or at least, you'll need to do lots of grinding.  Otherwise though, it's not even a terribly hard game.

Friend told me to only play it on expert difficulty. So I did so.

Now i'm regretting it. Any game mechanics I should know about that aren't exactly self explanatory. For one, I can tell grinding wont get anyone anywhere in expert difficulty.

How does this persona fusing and social linking work? do i run the risk of making stuff lost forever?

I played Tetris on hard, and it was hard.

Also the romhack of FFI that was hardmode.

Don't listen to anyone who says this.

But you never had any to begin with.

Inadvisable. If there's one thing the Shin Megami Tensei series is known for, it's crippling difficulty.

I'm a challenge gamer, but I'm also a gamer who for the most part detests RPGs. Yeah, i know.

Yeah, playing on expert difficulty is a terrible idea.  It's best to play it on normal or even easy first.  When you do your New Game + you can do it on expert and you'll have a much easier time, especially early on, since you'll be able to get most of the good personas right at the start (as long as you had a lot of money at the end of your first playthrough).
