Why do some Euros constantly say that Europe is nothing but true Lawful Good and America is nothing but Pure Chaotic Evil Complete Monsters? I wish I was more well versed in History, but hasn't Europe's history been defined by "Wars and Colonizing lands and wars and slaughtering natives in those colonized lands and wars and Catholic Church corruption and more wars"?

    Nationalism in general bugs me it assuems that there can be a pure holy unifying force when that more likely leads to Stalinist Russia.

    No no I'm pretty sure Europe has always been a benevolent utopia. :D

    I think the main focus of comparison between EU and US is modern history/economy/welfare rather than 'older' history.
    Also the statement:

    Applies to both the EU and the US.

    Mindless patriotism and nationalism exist everywhere, because many people think they are better than others just because they come from a certain country or, in this case, continent. They are of course idiots.

    Yes, it's annoying. I don't like it either when some guys in my training group bash America. But I wouldn't pay too much attention to it.

    Well that guy is lying, every country will have something of a dark past. *Depending on your views of course, If you liked Nazi's you might find german history to have a lighter and happier past.*

    I feel the proud of nationality all to easily leads to the disdain for other countries though.
