Okay, the ASCII art was shitty, so I got a graphics mod. Because, really?
Right so I generate a world and try adventure mode, I look at the DF guide to help me. Then I look at the game and walk around abit...then I go.
...wtf am I doing?
I try to go to menu and figure out the controls, holy shit, look at all those fucking controls! And they don't even seem to correspond to the in game controls! Wtf is that?
And I can't even discern what I'm looking at on the terrain.

ASCII is way better than any shitty tileset.
I think the perfect example of a complex game that's adequately documented is Nethack. Every command is explained in the manual, unlike Dwarf Fortress.
