Schala, and Chrono Trigger fans making such a big deal about her
I never understood why she's so popular. She just seems like some other major backstory-relevant NPC, but there are a darn lot of them. Her theme tune is unimpressive, and I don't even remember what she did, other than at one point sealing off that gate and at another point freeing the party from Dalton's jackassery and at a third point getting thrown into the timestream or something in a scene that I no longer remember.

But overall, I don't care, I see her incidental to poor
JanusMagus and that's about it.Nowadays I just accept that she's gone and never coming back--especially not in a crappy sequel that claims she's the destroyer of worlds now.
That the story goes in some bullshit directions is just a bonus.
Basically I found the gameplay overburdened itself in an attempt to be "different" and had the feel of trying to fix something that wasn't broken (and in doing so, actually breaking it).
Like, if I remember correctly, the battle system had like a fuckton of attack options, defense options, and some sort of system where if you keep casting spells of the same element, it becomes more powerful and weakens all spells of its polar opposite. In theory, this should add new levels of strategy. In practice though you'll never take advantage of it because the element thing can be effed up by the bad guy you're fighting if he decides to cast spells, most of the defense options are still useless and you'll probably just pick medium attack again and again.
Also, remember that part of Chrono Trigger where you could gather animal bones and shit to get new weapons? Its back, but now its the whole fucking game, and you have to pay money on top of it.
I never beat the game though, so take that as you will.
Probably because she's a big part of Magus' character arc. Also her disappearance is one of the most noticeable plotholes in an otherwise non-fucked up plot.
No offense meant, but do you really have to necro threads this old?
If the discussion still holds some potential, it is generally more polite to necro old threads instead of creating new ones.
Hmm, fair enough.
