Disrespect to dead forum-goers as a bannable offense.
Back on this old YGO forum I used to go to one of our semi-moderator/deck builders on there recently passed away. His parents logged onto the IRC channel and notified us that in his will to let us know about it so we would know that he won't be coming back. One of the replies from another deck builder was "Good fucking riddance." while the Schadenfreude YT animation was posted as well, and an admin immediately permabanned the guy from the IRC channel, AND the forum. I can understand that most people did not like the guy because he was a bit of a metagame elitist when it came to deckbuilding, and that bugged some casual deckbuilders on that site.
For some reason though, I don't think that was worth a permanent ban, since the person was dead and it shouldn't count as a personal attack or flaming since....he's dead. Then somebody told me that you should respect the dead and it's very offensive to applause the death of a fellow forum-goer.
What are your stances on this IJBM? If somebody you disliked on this forum died, how would you react? If somebody you liked passed away on this forum and another person was "dancing on their grave" what would be the proper measures to take against them?

I think that permaban was definitely deserved.
While I wouldn't like it if someone said "Good Fucking Riddance" if someone here made a thread saying how I was dead, I wouldn't care if the got banned or not....cause I'd be dead.

Saying that to the dead person's parents is pretty fucking low.
Good fucking riddance.
Hm, although maybe it would only really count if I got banned for making that comment? But then wouldn't that be congruency instead?
I suppose it's somewhat iffy.
Sort of like I just did.
But knowing myself, I probably wouldn't do so anyway.
I'm not sure how I would react if a poster, I don't like, would die. The fact that he stops posting is rather pleasant, but when it comes with the death of this poster, I highly doubt that I'd be happy about it. Also, I probably would be a bit shocked, since it's not something I'd expect to happen.
So, my best guess is that I'd be rather neutral. I'm not so dickish to think "good riddance", but I'd be too distant to have any larger negative feelings.
