Everything sucked after WV stopped being the focus character.

Trolls are tied with Intermission and and children for worst part of the story
  • Everything in disc one sucked.
  • I liked the kids far more than the trolls, that's for sure. Mainly because the trolls just came in and became the main characters. That just made them Replacement Scrappies to me.

Because you never know what you might see.
I mostly prefer the bits with the humans, though the troll arc had some great moments and introduced some of the most memorable characters.  The very start of Act 5 part 2 remains one of my favourite moments of the whole series.

And I loved the Intermission.  It was awesome.

implying the kids were anything but a set up for the trolls

    OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!
^^^If you'd finish the troll arc, you'd realize that the kids are really just minor characters in the trolls' story, but with the narrative mostly focusing on them.

    ^Ninja'd.
  • I like the trolls better than the kids, from what little I've seen of them, though this may be just because none of the kids struck me as particularly likable.

None of the trolls, really do either, except maybe Tavros. Though Vriska's fucking awesome.
  • INUH:....Except...I liked the kids alot.

Note to creators: Don't introduce the real main characters way, way after the audience likes the not-main characters.

I loved the kids so much, the trolls were just plain Replacement Scrappies. They have no where near the personality of the kids. Not to mention it wasn't, you know, annoying as hell to read the kid's pesterlogs.

Really INUH? The kids are pretty significant in the trolls' story.

    >Chagen implying he knows enough about effective storytelling to lecture Hussie

Sort of like how the sweatshop workers in Uganda who made your shoes are significant for your functioning in society

^Like Hussie knows shit about storytelling

The only laughs I get are people going 'His Honourable Tyranny is Karkat's ancestor" completely seriously
  • Because you never know what you might see.
The kids are the main characters, and the trolls don't replace them.  Actually, the story is a perspective flip away from being a story about the trolls which gets hijacked by the kids, rather than the other way around.

    SERIOUSLY

    WHICH ONE IS IT

THIS COMIC'S PLOT MAKES LESS SENSE THAN THE LAST 2 EPISODES OF EVANGELION

The secret is that they're both equally unimportant

all important plot events occurred in the intermission
  • Because you never know what you might see.
I think the thing I said is more of a clarification of what INUH said than a contradiction.

Regardless, the thing I said is true, though I guess it depends partly on your point of view.
  • The plot makes enough sense, it's just hard to remember details and understand things at times.

And I don't understand why main character status is important or how it's meaningful.
  • Creature - Florida Dragon Turtle Human
The names of stuff relating to Homestuck seem to remind me of An Untitled Story's areas.
  • Because you never know what you might see.
Well, I guess people like to know which characters they're supposed to follow, although in Homestuck the best answer is all of the characters. (All of them.)

There are recaps at several points, so if you forget anything, you can refresh your memory easily enough.
  • Is it true Hussie inserts stuff into the recaps that weren't in the actual text of the story? I've never actually bothered reading any of them.
  • Because you never know what you might see.
Sometimes he states stuff outright that was only implied in the story, but I don't remember him coming up with anything new in those recaps.
  • He does mention some things in the first recap which were never mentioned or only implied in the story. So reading them probably is a good idea.

At this point I'm only in it for idiotic theories my friends relay to me from the official forums.
