I agree with this entry on the TVTropes mirror wiki.
From the Mirror Wiki's Small Name Big Ego page:
>Some of our critics may think it petty that we list Fast Eddie from the
original TV Tropes wiki as an example of this trope. Not that being a
petty and controlling with a website is anything remotely new or rare,
but the original TV Tropes site isn't some obscure forum or bad fansite.
It's a massive source of information on tropes and works in all forms
of media, and the fact that someone this controlling, petty, and
flat-out egotistical runs it is disturbing. You could defend Eddie's
policy of mandatory positivity and increasingly tight grip by saying
he's trying to protect the site from the overwhelming negativity and
bile of internet culture, but you would have to ignore the fact that he
basically makes the site his bitch. He will lock and delete pages
because he doesn't like the edits (90% of locked pages), he doesn't
think it's funny (LOLcats,
Memento), to appease advertisers (just about anything that sounds
pervy), or for reasons he's not even entirely sure of (Something Awful,
which he later wrote off as a "troll target", because sure, why the
hell not?). And as if that wasn't bad enough, look up "TV Tropes 403". Fast Eddie
really does deny all access to the site if he perceives an infraction
(or, as he would probably put it, "being a troll"). As bad as the
staff of many sites can be, not even the most egotistical of man-children usually go this far.
I AGREE with this entry. I wouldn't go so far as to call him an "egotistical man-child," but he's certainly been headed in that direction as of late.
People respond to me saying this by posting "U Mad" images or arguing with me for daring to say that FE's been overstepping his authority.
Basically, IJBM that everyone seems to be so willing to step aside and let Fast Eddie take away everything that made the wiki good.

He's the absolute owner of TvTropes. Opposing him is useless, as he can just ban you, and even if he doesn't get out the banhammer, why should he listen to those ignorant masses anyway? Clearly his site must become what he wants it to be....the interests of the userbase be damned.
I don't like his policies and I usually don't mind throwing a hissy fit. I seem to recall even arguing with him directly a few times (god, how have I not been banned yet?). But honestly sometimes his policies work out for the better and he actually gives you more leeway than his reputation suggests.
I mean, I posted a fic where it was implied that Twilight Sparkle raped Pinkie Pie, and that fic is still up. And sex is one of the things he's supposed to have issues about, so....
I think probably the only way TVTropes policy is going to change is if someone more reasonable buys the site.
the less than 1% of the site's visitors who edit want to put on the
pages."
If that's true, then I couldn't care less what the majority of the userbase thinks. If my interests aren't represented, then I will fight the admins to the end of the earth.

Also the TV Tropes Mirror Wiki is the New Ryal ED when it comes to bashing Fast Eddie, it be sad.
That's a trap every editor on the wiki falls into. GuyInWhite doesn't know what the majority of readers want, and neither do you.
