    Why do people keep such large collections of avatars they won't use anyway? Why not just use Photobucket?

    This.  I actually use the avatars I have uploaded (or requested from other people).  I delete the ones I don't.

    No... actually I make avies out of every single worthy picture that show up on Ponibooru. At present, there are a little over 700 pages there, all of which I have harvested from.
