    mfw = my face when, so presumably yfw = your face when. The former gets considerably more use, as far as I know.

    "my face when".

    It came from /sp/. A mod there decided to ban anyone who said "my face when". So the people there used "mfw" instead. It eventually spread to the other boards, partly because people got used to saying "mfw" and partly because /sp/ hates it when other people use their memes (like WHY.jpg).
