If you wake up with an alarm clock, you may be rendered in a mild state of hyperawareness. I get that sometimes.

For me its the exact opposite:  Everything seems louder at night, and things that would seem loud at night always seem normal during the day.

I always thought this was because at night is when things are settling down and everyone is trying to sleep, so noise stands out more.

(Note that I was speaking of hyperawareness in general. It usually accompanies fits of anxiety or oncoming migraines in me, but not always. Sometimes just waking up too early does it.)

IJBM: Things seem slower when I'm hyper and faster when I'm sleepy.
  • Because you never know what you might see.
@ Gelzo: You're drinking too much the night before.
