  • Shut up you have no right to bitch.
  • I'm not fighting, I'm bitching somewhere where we're supposed to bitch.
  • ^Maybe we oughta change that.
  • When in Turkey, ROCK THE FUCK OUT
    NO.

And people who actively ignore policies implemented specifically to counter bitching? Ignore them.
  • For some people, their threshold for what constitutes as bitching is lower than others.
  • YOU GOTTA FIGHT

    FOR YOUR RIGHT

    TO PAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARTAY BITCH
  • I feela need to fight for it I need an outlet for ti man it's one of my few sanctuaries.
  • ^^ God damnit, I was about to post that.

You mean like everyone who thinks Fast Eddie is an orwellian megalomaniac that is sucking the fun out of TV Tropes?

    ^ Yeah. Him.

I would't quite call FE an "orwellian megalomaniac" quite yet, but he sure is heading in that direction as of late.

    Cry moar.

Plenty of places exist for meaningless bitching, this being one of them. Nothing wrong with TV Tropes not being one of them, which apparently everyone fails to realise.

^ Define meaningless and bitching. Because lately, it seems like people like you want to scrub anything from the wiki that could reflect badly on a work. I once got accused of "spreading bile" because I called the hosts of a reality show "ditzy".

There's also plenty of places for meaningless gushing, too. Why should I have to read 5 paragraphs about how Homestuck is mankind's greatest accomplishment? Why should the YMMV pages be littered with mindless "Crowning Moment" entries?
  • Because you never know what you might see.
    >I once got accused of "spreading bile" because I called the hosts of a reality show "ditzy".

OK, even I think that's ridiculous.
  • My name is Addy - Caissa is the Goddess of Chess, whom I serve in my capacity as the Pawn Slayer.
People like me? What's that supposed to mean?

And I don't support endless gushing either, Sugar Wiki isn't a lot better than Darth Wiki and neither really has a place on the site as I see it.

Link please, inkblot so I can check it and revert it. Sounds like an internet paladin that's out of alignment.

There are some overzealous fucks on our side that seems to think anything that isn't gushing is bile. They mostly hang out in Wiki talk and Trope Repair Shop.
  • I fight for everybody's right to bitch.

Um, yes there is. When I want to complain to a certain audience, I want to complain to that audience and not some other one on some other site.

Limiting where you can complain is like saying you can't have free speech in certain areas. It's a bunch of oppressive bullshit.

We are entitled to expressing our own opinions.

It's been the basis of almost every Western nation for the past 200 years that the people can express their views freely, and this should apply to private organizations as well.

Because you never know what you might see.
What if the audience in question isn't interested?

Edit: Ninja'd.  Too bad, it doesn't apply to private organisations.

Welp, time to find a way to change this then.
  • Because you never know what you might see.
    Good luck with that.
  • ^ Scoff all you like, Bobby! Personally, I think the "Why Cant We Bitch On Tv Tropes" Party is going to give the "The Rent Is Too Damn High" Party a run for their money in the 2012 election. =P

Yeah, pretty much. The worst part is that there are no personal attacks so I can't just post this:

Welp, time to find a way to change this then.

Stupidest fucking thing you've ever said. You are willing to fight for the right to revise the rights of public property/organizations so you can bitch about something stupid they don't want you to?
  • You can change. You can.
    ^^ You don't even know Spanish. :P
  • I understand enough of it.

GuyInWhite, I am just as upset about the site's direction as you are. You know what I did? I left. If the admins want to make tvtropes into what they believe is an oasis of positivity in a sea of "bile" and to treat natter like the scourge of the Earth, they can. But I won't contribute to their vision.

You won't convince them to see things you way. All you can do is leave. The site is nothing without its editors.
  • You got kicked out.
