When forum users don't discuss the forum's thing

I realize that this is a massive pile of hypocrisy coming from an IJBM mono-forumer, but I can really empathise with FE when it comes to people just disregarding the main purpose of a forum. I was once moderating a forum, and at some point play-by-post rpgs became the "thing". At some point nearly half of all the posts being made were coming from the creative writing forum, which had been completely hijacked by rpgs, and there were several posters who did nothing but play rpgs (at the time I was doing nothing but playing the "comment on the avatar above games, for another added layer of hypocrisy), and the staff put a veto on any new rpgs. There was a shitstorm, people were tempbanned, and it left a bad taste in everyone's mouth. Every wished that they had just ended it all a lot earlier.

I really feel FE made the right decision for himself and the forum, even if it wasn't the best decision for my self desires.
