It's like, the song sounds really nice, but when I read/listen to the lyrics, my appreciation of the song drops considerably.

As an aside, this song in particular needs moar of those sexy sax riffs.

Part of the reason I love Fall Out Boy is that their lyrics are good and their songs are catchy and well composed.

Seriously, their choruses are always amazingly good to hear.

As for utterly ridiculous lyrics in a catchy song, any good vocal remix of Friday pretty much counts.

Than most trash on the radio today. I don't listen to the radio anymore. When I'm in my mom's car, we listen to CD's (She likes The Black Parade, and, surprisingly, Anime OPs, and Touhou remixes) and my dad's car is either filled with conservative talk radio or the local jazz station, and perhaps some classic rock stations sometimes.

I listen mainly to '90s and '80s top-40 stuff, so I'd actually describe almost all of my favorite music as "catchy but cheesy-as-all-get-out".

Also Disney soundtracks.
