"Lights out by 10:00."

Growing up, my father would always enforce the rule of going to sleep by 10:00 on school nights. Even in high school. The poor fellow didn't realize that I often still had homework to finish... I could've told him about it, but it would've been nearly every night. I generally set my alarm for an hour or two early to make up for the lost time.

    "Even in high school."

There were only a few instances where I had to work until 11:00 in high school, and those were for major assignments. For the rest, I could easily have the work wrapped up before 10.

Then again, how hard do you find the assignments?

Well, my grades were rarely much of an issue, but I had a very slow work pace--meaning that at the end of the day, I still had many uncompleted assignments that a good few of my classmates had already finished in school. We also had dinner at the table every night, so that lost me at least an hour. Coming straight home from school and starting straight on the homework, of course, meant my brain was still a bit clouded from the day, so my pace was even slower. If it started to get too late in the evening, my folks would ask if they could help, or what the assignment was about.... explaining this only ate up more time from the evening/night.

So yeah, sometimes I just felt it was more convenient to just not pull out every single assignment, and finish it all later.
