Come on, people, do we need zombies in everything? I never really liked them that much.

Especially in Japan. Even Touhou's got a Zombie character now!

Zombies are an easy way of having lots of nameless mooks that can die in a gory fashion.  Plus, since they're zombies, you don't even have to bother explaining how they got there, because nobody actually cares as long as it means they get to see lots of zombie gore.

Also because they're popular lately for reasons I'm not really sure of.  But that's not an answer since it's just rewording the title of this thread...
  • This annoys me too. Zombies seem to be massively overused. Shaun of the Dead kicked it off, but recent things like Dead Island, CoD's zombie mods, etc, are way past the point it got dull.

Plants vs. Zombies is amazing, though.
  • Creature - Florida Dragon Turtle Human
I blame Dracula.  His castle always has areas that endlessly spawn zombies.  Always.
  • Touhou has a zombie character? That's actually kind of neat. I've always thought cute zombies were amusing.
  • Well....technically she's a Jiang Shi, but that's still a zombie.
  • Hell yeah zombies!
  • No rainbow star
Don't worry. Eventually we'll have a quartet of books where a girl falls in love with a vegetarian zombie who twinkles as he rots, with both being flat as hell characters, and zombies will die so hard that they will not rise for AGES!
  • ☭Unstoppable Sex Goddess☭
Or it could be a guy who catches a cute zombie girl in a trap and teaches her to protect him from being eaten and it develops a romantic bond with him that prevents her from rotting and stinking.
  • No rainbow star
^ Or maybe we could also kill the eventual werewolf flooding by having the male lead be a secret werewolf!

And the zombie was really an angel!

And the werewolf is allergic to water!

And it was all really Satan's dream!

  • I wonder how the ESRB handles zombie killing. If it's treated as less violent than killing humans, it could explain why zombies show up in so many video games.
