The BBC's new web layout sucks.

Seriously, look at it.

It's far too cluttered and jumbled, with topics strewn all over the place like some perverted puzzle.

It's not as bad as Kotaku's, but it's still damn bad.

Comments

  • I can barely even tell which topic is what on Kotaku. BBC is downright jolly in comparison.

The lay out seems fine for me. I am used to little boxes with information in them being scattered in different places since most sites I visit do that anyway. It would be nice to have them all in columns but that doesn't fit most sites.
  • ...Oh jesus. You gotta be fucking kidding me.

I never got why people have so much trouble navigating simple sites on the internet. In all my time on it, I've never seen a site that's as bad as people say it is. God. You have to spend an extra second clicking, THE HORROR.

It has more to do with the fact that it's so totally different from the previous layout. At least make it so people aren't totally confused when they see your new layout, guys.

For example, there were blocks for each section (News, Sport, Travel, etc.) and the top had the big stories.

Now, it has one gigantic block of the bigs tories stories, with a few of the sections getting their own blocks and the rest consigned to "tabs" within one block.
  • ^^ Because the fact that something is still technically functional is makes poor design irrelevant, right?
