Except everyone else on here told me Opera/IE suck and it's best to stick with Firefox.

If they told you to jump off a bridge, would you?
  • Chrome?
  • Opera does not suck. I should know, I've been using it for years.

Vorpy has some sort of settings issue wherein SWF files fail to correctly load in Firefox.

If you only need to watch SWF files (as opposed to ones that require clicking), Media Player Classic might work, actually.  There may be ways to disable click to play/pause, too.

Reconfigured it so MPC plays them now.

Still wish I could find out why firefox doesn't play them anymore (some stupid patch or a version change) so I can correct it.

Also rolled back to 3.5 because 4 was ugly.

    The IRCs want you(r soul): irc.esper.net, #ijbm

Also using Opera here, have been for a few years or so.  Dunno why flash files won't play from the filesystem in Firefox though, it should respect embed filetypes regardless, but that's just me being logical (I know it used to at some point).

EDIT: GMH: There's a standalone Flash player from Adobe themselves if you do a little digging on their site.  VLC and mplayer should also play Flash, but it probably won't be interactive.

After fiddling around with it for a while, I think Firefox 4 is pretty nice. It also loads a lot faster, too, so that's a plus.
