You know what guys, there's a story I have long wanted to tell you, but never got around to it. There's just a lot to sift through to pick out a consistent narrative that would also express my thoughts on the matter. So I never got to do it.
Fortunately, I've stumbled upon an article that already did what I wanted to do. Or, barring that, at this point I'm willing to consider it close enough. I'm gonna link it, then link a few others that you may want to run through a google translator or something, and the rest of what I write here is some loose musings. Honestly, I don't really see myself as expanding on it, at least not exhaustively expanding, so with apologies I hope the article I link to will be enough. Although by all means ask if you have questions, I will answer.
Anyways, do you remember that stupid shizzle a few months back about a black Cleopatra? Basically, Turboslavism is black Cleopatra for Polish people.
The story is a few years old and the movement/subculture/conspiracy theory has been mostly pushed back by people who know how ridiculous this is, but for a while it caused many a historian to lose a few hairs off their heads. The left hates it because they find it racist, the centre hates it because they find it bad history and conspiracy theorism, and a big part of the right actually hates it as well for anti-Catholic themes, which surely put a big dent on their recruitment efforts. So, there was plenty of people to push back.
It's an odd mix of racial suprematism, ultra-nationalism, conspiratorial abuse of the discipline of history, anti-Germanism, anti-Catholicism (oddly enough?), anti-Semitism (this one is an evergreen), suspicious links to elements of Russian extreme right fringe and secret services, and quite a few more.
