Generally speaking whenever I hear someone going on and on about how "factual" or "logical" they are and how much their opponents don't care about facts, what this tends to end up meaning in practice is that they are only ever capable of interpreting the facts in a way that supports their pre-existing position.

It's most common with anti-feminists, but you see this kind of arrogance almost everywhere.

Everyone should just admit that they are only capable of rationality and logical thinking in a minor conscious level; everyone is ultimately ruled by wants and greeds and pettiness and emotions.

This is an excellent way of thinking about it.
