Post-Story anxiety

I have noticed a condition coming over me every time I write. Right before I post the story on the internet, I am all "Aw shit yeah lets do this!" Right after I post the story, I am "oh god what the hell was I doing this thing sucks THEYRE ALL GONNA LAUGH AT ME OH GOD" This always happens. Without fail. If this is what happens after posting amateur fiction on the internet, I don't want to think about how I'll be if I publish professional fiction...

That's pretty common among aspiring writers, and probably a good deal of successful published authors. Just try to push through it and silence the voices saying that it sucks. I have to deal with this all the time. At first it was impossible to get over, but it gets easier with time and practice.

  • There's a reason I never read through anything I write.
  • I like reading over my work after I write it, I can sit back and enjoy it instead of looking for mistakes or writing it.

Reminds me of the time I wrote a sexfic about Cat in the Hat in 6th grade.
