What good could possibly come out of this? All I see is a system that steals your data for advertiser money and prevents you from being exposed to different ideas (especially since we already have enough issues with confirmation bias searching).
I remember when I took "Don't Be Evil" at face value and not as an Orwellian slogan.

Some people don't want new ideas.
I like that you can look up how sad and lonely your life is based on what Google thinks of you, but it is kind of dangerous to encourage narrow scopes and echo-chambers.
There was actually a novel with a great premise about a social network company that was trying to take over the world, sadly the book sucked (Or maybe it didn't since I only read the first chapter at work).
Well, conversely, a silver lining of non-personalized search in ^that case is that it reminds people of the need to disambiguate jargon when speaking to a larger audience.
