The media appears to believe most people hate Anne Hathaway
I have never met anyone who even disliked her.
Comments
The actress, not Shakespeare's wife.
Just to be clear.
Uh, in what way does the media believe people hate her?

Well apparently there are enough people who hate her (possibly in the media business itself) for this to be a noteworthy topic to write about.
Whether such a group is large enough to warrant one's attention, though, is another question.
I love Anne Hathaway.
I've been watching her movies (most of them terrible) since I was ten.
She's the only chick flick actress I actually find myself liking.
Now I'm trying to think of the last film she was in that I saw that wasn't The Dark Knight Returns. For all its issues she was at least good as Catwoman.
According to this, she's number 9 on Star Magazine's most hated celebs list. Right below Justin Bieber.
No, I did not look that up. I just saw a link to it when I was reading about something else.
I don't even know who Anne Hathaway is. If you mentioned that name to me I would more likely have thought it was a person who lived in England a few centuries ago. I would have confused it with Queen Anne, I think, though.
Nor Kim Kardashian, other than that tabloids seem to be talking about her all the time.
Nor Gwyneth Paltrow, other than that she has a daughter named Apple, leading to "apple in my eye" jokes.
Anne Hathaway is a pretty skilled actress that seems to end up in a lot of really bad films and a few really splendid ones. Her performance in Rachel Getting Married, for example, is sublimely uncomfortable. She does messed up very well.
She was first known for starring in the Princess Diaries movies as a young teenage girl that doesn't know she is really the heir to a throne.
