A Better Political Test

We all know that the Political Compass is extremely flawed. This test, being newer, is less known, but is nevertheless much, much better, with the best thing being that it contains six axes instead of only two.

My result is:

You are a Trotskyist. 3 percent of the test participators are in the same category and 1 percent are more extremist than you.

    You can change. You can.

    I got social democratic patriot.

I don't think this test could be more inaccurate.

ETA: I did do the short version, tho.

  • But you never had any to begin with.

You are a cosmopolitan Social Democrat . 15 percent of the test participators are in the same category and 9 percent are more extremist than you.

  • There is love everywhere, I already know

You are a liberal Cosmopolitan. 4 percent of the test participators are in the same category and 39 percent are more extremist than you.

  • Has friends besides tanks now

You are a cosmopolitan Social Democrat. 15 percent of the test participators are in the same category and 22 percent are more extremist than you.

    woot, social democracy!

  • Has friends besides tanks now

Is the difference between "cosmopolitan Social Democrat" and "social democratic Cosmopolitan" just that they place different emphases on either of the categories? That seems like an odd distinction to make.

  • if u do convins fashist akwaint hiz faec w pavment neway jus 2 b sur

I can't figure out the algorithm involved, it appears to be fairly arbitrary. Just stick with "social denocrat" and it's okay enough.

"you duck spawn, refined creature, you try to be cynical, yokel, but all that comes out of it is that you're a dunce!!!!! you duck plug!"

    I got that:

"You are a social democratic Cosmopolitan. 12 percent of the test participators are in the same category and 97 percent are more extremist than you." Any of you guys can get less extreme? I guess I'll retake it later, I'll see if I can spice it up.

Also, the word "extremely" is extremely overused.

edit: I re-did the test, here're the results. As I said, I "spiced it up", put some weights and so on. Still, it's pretty much rotating around the zero axis.

"You are a liberal Cosmopolitan. 4 percent of the test participators are in the same category and 89 percent are more extremist than you."

  • But you never had any to begin with.

I'm assuming that cosmopolitan Social Democrat means you're leaning more towards the socialism side of the equation, and vice versa.

  • One foot in front of the other, every day.

I'm a "social democrat Cosmopolitan", apparently.

  • A Mind You Do NOT Want To Read

You are a social democratic Cosmopolitan. 12 percent of the test participators are in the same category and 24 percent are more extremist than you.

  • Did you guys get the results you thought you would? I thought I'd be more on the nationalistic, ecological and secular side than I was. For that matter, I thought we'd be closer to the ecological side.

I'm almost surprised that I'm the most secular person here so far (by 1%, but still), but I can't say these results are otherwise surprising. My difficulty was in where I wanted to put emphasis, and I ended up putting 2 or 3 of them on Civil Rights-ish questions.

    Pokkity Pokkity Pokkity

Well, here are my results... I'm considered a "neo-liberal democrat".

Yep, still turns out a libertarian response, though my feelings towards economy is mostly not as strong as that of social issues.

While I'm not exactly a trot myself (even though I'm really, really close in most views), I am a member of a mostly trotskyist organization and don't really mind being called one, so I guess it's okay.

  • But you never had any to begin with.

I honestly consider myself closer to a democratic socialist than a social democrat, but at least it didn't do something ridiculous like call me a libertarian.

  • You are a social democratic Cosmopolitan. 12 percent of the test participators are in the same category and 85 percent are more extremist than you.

I'm pretty sure I'm more of a capitalist than a comunist, but again, some of the questions are kind of silly.
  • a little muffled
You are a Social Democrat. 12 percent of the test participators are in the same category and 26 percent are more extremist than you.

    As expected, more or less.
  • "you duck spawn, refined creature, you try to be cynical, yokel, but all that comes out of it is that you're a dunce!!!!! you duck plug!"

This anthropocentric axis seems kinda silly. It's like all that's needed to get heavily to the anthropocentric side is one or two wrong picks, with the "wrong picks" being stuff like agreeing on eating meat.

    Here, There, Everywhere

    Without weighted questions:

Apparently only 2% of people are more hardcore in their beliefs than I am. Huh.

^ I think the fact that I eat meat despite taking ethical issue with it overall (yay, internal conflict!) is the sole reason why the "ecological" score there is under 60%.

    Silence is golden.

    Took the short version:

You are a liberal patriot. 2 percent of the test participators are in the same category and 71 percent are more extremist than you.

    http://www.politicaltest.net/test/graphic2/244148_eng.jpg ;

I'd hardly call myself patriotic, but the rest seems otherwise accurate. I'll edit in the results of the long version when I'll have the time.

    EDIT:

You are a neoliberal Democrat. 6 percent of the test participators are in the same category and 71 percent are more extremist than you.

    Sounds about right, lol.

  • Damn it, two people out-right me.

Creature - Florida Dragon Turtle Human

So this test allowed me to give a "don't care" response.

I did that for a LOT of my questions.

I had to strain just to find five questions I really cared about.  There really was only one, the education question.

You are a National Democratic Socialist. 3 percent of the test participators are in the same category and 77 percent are more extremist than you.

It says +4% nationalistic, -46% secular, -18% visionary, -16% anarchistic, -35% communistic, +28% militaristic, and +8% anthropocentric.  (The pluses and minuses only indicate right and left on the displayed scale, respectively.)

+8% anthropocentric?  Really?  When I spend my time studying those things we are but ought not to be taking for granted?

And I didn't expect a positive nationalistic score.

My high secular score makes sense since I added emphasis to the "can't have values without religion" question.

But the oddly high scores for communistic and militaristic don't make much sense.  Maybe it enjoyed my meh answers to some "common natural resource" questions and also my admitting that nuclear weapons may have prevented a shitstupid war between the US and Russia.

Overall, I feel this is a better test than the other one.  First, it has a "neutral" option, which I used profusely.  Second, the questions seem to be less hamhanded.

  • No rainbow star
You are a cosmopolitan Social Democrat. 15 percent of the test participators are in the same category and 42 percent are more extremist than you.

  • I tried the short test and though for the most part it was nearly qualitatively the same, it gave me more centered, erratic scores. How does your score change if you change the test?

    OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!

You are a cosmopolitan Social Democrat. 15 percent of the test participators are in the same category and 24 percent are more extremist than you.

Not perfect, but a much better test.

  • edited 2013-04-09 14:08:35

I got the results as "Liberal", and 97 percent of test-takers are more extremist than me. Although this might be due to my lack of really strong beliefs. Possibly inaccurate, tbh.

  • But you never had any to begin with.

Thus, we can conclude that IJBM is a wretched hive of commies and socialists. And some other guys. Surprising approximately nobody.

  • Give us fire! Give us ruin! Give us our glory!

You are an authoritarian Socialist. 1 percent of the test participators are in the same category and 42 percent are more extremist than you.

Huh. That's a little more accurate than I care to admit, though I'm not sure why I got so high on militaristic.
