Spore is the only game with terraforming in it in the last few years
This is bad, because when ever I want to terraform, I must play Spore.

What about Minecraft? It's rather painstaking, especially in Survival mode, but it's still terraforming, right? Haha, sorry, I probably should have checked my dictionary first.
Not really. You can't go to a planet that can't support life, then make it support life.
I feel like I've played other games with terraforming, but I can't think what.
I know it isn't actually terraforming but rather landscaping, but I think the Zoo Tycoon and RollerCoaster Tycoon (but mainly Zoo Tycoon) games are pretty fun to just mess around with virtual environments in.
Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri of course! Plant farms or forests, build mines and roads, raise mountains, fuck the planet up, receive mindworm attacks in retaliation!
I always played as the Gaia people (I forget the faction's proper name) in Alpha Centauri cuz I remember you could somehow befriend the mindworms.
I always played the mad scientist. Incidentally Deirdre is the best one for terraforming IIRC, Gaians have a head start on Weather Paradigm and a bonus to Planet helps when the mindworms get angry.
From Dust?
University is the best faction because of the science bonus. Who needs military prowess when your weapons are plain better? The Gaians are good not so much because of the ecological bonus (that's a nice side-effect, but you really only need the Planet value at non-negative), but for the efficiency bonus, that really helps. And of course the Peacekeepers have a nicely stable society. Appropriately, in my quest for efficiency I've always chosen Democracy - Green - Knowledge in social engineering. And I've never played Morganites, because -3 Police/-5 Planet in Free Market is brutal (I always modded this to -2/-3 - to help the NPCs choosing that, even then I would never touch Free Market).
Yeah, I bet Alex&Milos are proud of whoever set the stats for Free Market. I mean, seriously. The only thing it lacks is EATS_PUPPIES label. Incidentally I took about the same social engineering choices most of the time, sometimes I went for Planned+Democracy for growth, or Power for, eh, you know.
Nah, I'm of the firm opinion that soldiers units win battles, but the economy wins wars. Power's morale bonus isn't so important (especially if you have a tech advantage), but the industry disadvantage is annoying. And I just could never get enough of efficiency, and Planned loses you two points. Really, the only thing where I ever varied where the future ideologies or whatever they were called. If any game ever progressed that far (not often, seeing how idiotically stupid the AI was).
Mmm-hmm, with future ideologies you could get that Efficiency pumped to as high as six or seven.

Nothing that can't be modded in. :v
Well, the -5 Planet kinda is eating puppies. Xeno-puppies, that is. Who eat your brain.
