Why do people do this, especially in informal arguments when they're not actually aiming to break their opponent's mind or something?
It's like, I discover a disagreement with someone in the course of a conversation, then one of the first things is to find a reason why I'm the exception, often essentially conceding the mainstream ground to the other side, but then I occasionally get people who are like, "yep, that's right, and that's why you suck". Usually in language a bit less harsh, but...so were you arguing with me for fun, naturally spawned from a friendly conversation about the topic...or were you just aiming to tell me how much I suck, my tastes suck, my little dog sucks, and I should feel bad about it?

Because some folks are of the opinion that you must be a terrible person who terriblizes if you don't enjoy arguing, and are thus prone to making fun of those who don't.
