Oh no, I have written a serious sociological work of fiction

But I have not filled it with underage loli porno drawings! How will I sell my heartbreakingly sad work of serious fiction?

Beat you to it already, though this thread contains significantly more sarcasm.

    Back on topic, explosions?

  • Clearly you must fill it with underage loli porno drawings.

    ☭Unstoppable Sex Goddess☭
I love it how people are trying to make it sound like Madoka Magica is a grimdark representation of the Magical Girl genre were it's basically the same shit, except with Faust.
  • Ruin it. Make it so bad that no one will have a choice but to read it to see how bad it is.

Who knows, you might be closer to achieving this than you though! :D
  • Jokes about nine year old girls talking about how tight their pussies are is totally appropriate for a serious work on par with a Shakespearian tragedy, right?
  • So, what exactly are you satirizing here?
  • I love it how people are trying to make it sound like Madoka Magica is a grimdark representation of the Magical Girl genre were it's basically the same shit, except with Faust.
Madoka is hardly what I'd call a good show, but if there's something it is, it's a grimdark magical girl show, sometimes to its detriment.
  • ^^^Fourteen year-old girls. Shakespeare wasn't that bad.
  • Fuck you all, I like Madoka.
  • I've never seen it.
  • Fuck you all, I like Madoka.
    I like it too.
  • Madoka Magica is boring, predictable, full of flat characters, and takes itself way too seriously in spite of that.

It has good animation, and the fight scenes are cool, but unfortunately it spends very little time on them and prefers to spend time on having Akemi Homura lecture the other characters on how they aren't acting cynical enough to be a character in this show, and then dramatically flipping her hair after every sentence because they want it to look like anything she says actually means something.

    @Bob:

"Kodomo No Jikan is a deeply sociological and psychological work, with romance so tender it makes you forget how incredibly sad everything else is. It's also filled with explicit lolicon fanservice."

Hunting season started about a week ago in "Post your random thoughts".

  • «The letter isn't applicable after episode ten. Also time to rage at another person who hates any character who doesn't constantly think they're invincible.»

Hell, even after episode eight you can tell why the suggestions in that letter are a very bad idea.
  • That letter is stupid, though.

And Madoka is the best character anyway, so I'm not really sure why they decided to RAEG at her, of all the characters in the show.
  • I didn't even read the thing, I just thought it was slightly relevant.

    /troll
  • I'm actually not even sure how you could like Madoka Magica (which the guy who wrote that letter says he does) if you don't like Madoka herself because she cries and has breakdowns all the time.  That's like... half the show, really.  And like a quarter of the show is Sayaka doing the same thing only angrier.  So... yeah.

    Sounds kinda shitty, honestly.

    ^^ It is!

Actually, I dunno.  A lot of people like it.  So apparently it has something good about it.  Watching it makes me angry though because I can't stand Homura.  Or the idea that deconstructions are automatically better than the thing they're deconstructing, which appears to be the main reason the show is so popular. (though I'm not even sure that it is a deconstruction...)

Well it's either that or the fact that pretty much everything else this season sucks, as funnyguts said.
  • "Or the idea that deconstructions are automatically better than the thing they're deconstructing, which appears to be the main reason the show is so popular."

That's also what instantly killed my interest in the show. Once the fanbase started going into "I'm so edgy" mode, that part of my brain that triggers it to shut down upon seeing the word Deconstruction activated.

  • Wow. So the fanbase was at it's lowest point, and it still managed to get worse somehow.

Gotta give it up for anime fans.

So now the fanbase has gone from LOL I R SO CYNICAL AND DEEP to being regular shippers?

    That's an improvement.
  • I SAW THAT EDIT YOU CAN'T HIDE FROM ME DYRE
  • edited 2011-03-28 19:55:35
Well... fine.  I only edited it out because it was kind of petty.  It's true though.

It just said that regardless of the fanbase, I still can't stand Homura or Kyubey at all.  And since they're main characters... that kind of limits my ability to ever enjoy the show.

And there's nothing wrong with that.

See kids? There's nothing wrong with expressing yourself! Don't censor yourself for others, just be yourself! Yeah!

Should have preceded part of that with some form of Sailor Sez Says. (okay, that's one legit use for strikeout)
